“You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe. Every day was recorded in your Book.” Psalm 139: 16 TLB
Michael Jack (Mike) Hayworth was born in Fort Benton, Montana, on September 27, 1946, and went home to Heaven on April 7, 2018. He was born to Del and Mary Hayworth as the second youngest of thirteen siblings.
Mike attended rural Graceville School in Chouteau County, went to high school in Geraldine, and studied at Western Montana College (Dillon), where he received his B.S. degree in 1968. He was active in the college rodeo community and President of the WMC Rodeo Club. Mike met Judy at WMC and they were married on July 15, 1967. They enjoyed 51 years of wedded bliss.
Mike learned a strong work ethic as a youngster and in high school working for neighboring farmers and ranchers during the summers. He was an employee of Montana Power Company at Colstrip from 1971 to 2007, after which he and Judy moved to Sheridan, Wyoming. Mike enjoyed his work and fellow workers at MPC for those many years.
Mike had a servant’s heart and loved to help others. His faith in Jesus Christ was very important to him.
Mike is survived by his wife Judy, sons Michael (Jo Ellen) and Matt (Amy), daughter Heidi (Shawn), grandchildren Katy, Daniel, and Jack, many wonderful nieces and nephews, brothers Herb (Polly), Pat (JoAnn), and Wes Hayworth and Sonny (Pat) Moline, and sisters Scooter (Del) Pasha and Rita Hayworth. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ronald and Guy Hayworth, Jim Hardenbrook, and Dale Moline, sisters Alice Hardenbrook Philips and Ethel Hardenbrook Zimmerman, and nephew Jeff Workman.
Mike’s family thanks Dr. Marino, Nina Beach, and the other staff at Welch Cancer Center, Dr. Widener, Dr. Hunter, and the other staff at Sheridan Memorial Hospital, and the wonderful staff at Westview for their compassionate care.
