Bruce K. Crockett, Ph.D., 72, of Big Horn, WY passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. He was born March 8, 1944 in Denton, TX to Kelley and Arlene (Melchert) Crockett.  Bruce was a native of Kansas City, MO.

Following college, he was a psychologist at a community health center. He subsequently entered the business world and served in various positions in Human Resources at Eastern Enterprises in Weston, MA from 1990 to 1995 (now Keyspan) and his final position was at Mallinckrodt, Inc. in St. Louis from 1995 to 2000. Bruce held an A.B. from Baker University, a Master’s Degree from Boston University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wyoming.  He did counseling after receiving his Ph.D.

Upon his retirement, he and his wife, Chris, moved to Portsmouth, NH where they resided for 13 years. In 2013, Bruce and Chris moved to Big Horn, WY and built their home where they acquired and enjoyed many new friends and neighbors.  Bruce continued his community service work in Sheridan at Big Brothers and Big Sisters and also, CASA.

He served as a member on the board of directors for Seacoast Big Brothers/Big Sisters, The Gundalow Co., Seacoast Science Center, and Association for Retired Citizens. His interests included: Holocaust studies, World War II studies, equity markets, children, travel, athletics and grandchildren.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Kelley and Arlene Crockett; son, Todd Crockett; and sister, Greta Crockett. He is survived by his wife, Christine Crockett; daughter, Alyssa Crockett; sister, Sandra Lewis and family; brother, Scott Crockett and his wife; step-children, Rebecca Kondi and family, Barbara Begin and family, and Elizabeth Wigren-Walden and family; grandchildren, Miranda Wigren, Christopher Kondi, Amanda Begin, Catherine Kondi, Nicole Begin, Isabella Kondi, Chase Walden, Georgia Kondi, Ruby Walden and Abigail Crockett.  Also, survived by Mentee and Little Brother, Cameron Tucker.

A Celebration of Life/Open House with light fare will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Crockett residence, 7 Saddle View Road in Big Horn, WY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made out to the University of New Hampshire Foundation directed to the Todd Huntington Crockett Scholarship Fund.  Checks may be mailed to: UNH Foundation, Attn.
