Glenna Marie (Palser) Reed
January 1, 1949 – December 20, 2017
Glenna Marie (Palser) Reed, 68, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at her residence after a hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born January 1, 1949 in Greeley, Colorado to Clara Louise and Edger Dale Palser. In her youth, the family moved to Kimball, Nebraska where she met her future husband, Lonnie Reed. The two wed in Kimball on November 8, 1968 and had two children; Shane and Chad Reed. In 1972, the family moved to Sheridan, Wyoming, where she spent the majority of her remaining life. Lonnie and Glenna divorced in 1995 after which Glenna lived in several cities in Colorado and Texas, before returning to Sheridan.
Glenna was a very energetic and hard-worker her entire life and worked at Shipton’s Big R, Mossholders Furniture, and Sheridan Memorial Hospital over the years where she always greeted visitors with a friendly smile. Glenna enjoyed spending time with her many family and friends, going to the movies, lunch dates, fishing, and driving. She would often take drives throughout Sheridan County just to be behind the wheel and enjoy the scenery. Glenna was also an avid reader, enjoying mysteries most of all. Perhaps her favorite pastime was spending time with her three grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart. She remained strong with a positive, friendly attitude through her entire bout with cancer.
Glenna is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Ray Taylor, sister Linda, and brothers Rick and Douglas James (Jim). She is survived by her sons, Shane Reed (partner Johnny Trullinger) and Chad Reed (wife Jacque); brother Ed (Mary) Palser; grandchildren Sawyer, Nolan and Gavin Reed; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and very close friends.
A casual luncheon will take place at 11:00 am Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Knights of Columbus, 301 E. Brundage Street in Sheridan. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Welch Cancer Center, PO Box 391, Sheridan, WY 82801.
