December 25, 1924 - January 31, 2018
‘My Savior’s’ eyes saw me before I was formed; before a single one of my days took shape, they were all prepared and written in His scroll. (Psalm 139:16) … and his days of earthly were 33,635. 93 years, one month, 7 days. Gunnar was born in Laramie, Wyoming December 25, 1924; died in Sheridan, Wyoming January 31, 2018.
…From collecting lead, copper and aluminum at age 6 for movie and root beer money; planting onions in Riverton, to driving railroad spikes in Rapid City, to welding school in Boise, to WWII 753rd Tank Commander, to Chuck Wagon business with his brothers in Jackson Hole and Las Vegas, to lumber yards in Riverton. And finally, life insurance sales covering Wyoming from Powell with AAL until retirement in 1986. Gunnar lived 67 years with his wife, Sylvia, raising 4 children. Final earthly years spent in Sheridan wood crafting and fishing at Lake DeSmet, until his angelic ride home to his Creator. He was Wyoming through and through from beginning to end. Now he lives eternal life through the promises he believed in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Gunnar Warpness is survived by his wife Sylvia; four children, Barry (Rachel) Warpness of Rapid City, Signe Warpness of Denver, Allan (Kara) Warpness of Colorado Springs, and Kristina Warpness Kuenne of Sheridan; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
