We have been friends with Maurine since she taught in Hot Springs,SD. What fond memories we have of the times we spent together. I recall several times you would come to Hot Springs to participate in the Arts and Crafts show and always stays with us. Our family appreciated your friendship. Our love and prayers. We will miss Maurine so much! She was a wonderful friend to us. Maurine was always so compassionate and thoughtful, even in times when she was having difficulties. Dean and Tracy especially enjoyed the time spent with her in the studio. We know Maurine is now at peace and out of pain, but we wish we could have had a bit more time with her. To the family, we send our deepest sympathies. Sincerely, Dean and Penny States and Tracy Derks.

Maurine, my special friend and life saver. We will miss your unyielding service to others. You made so many sacrifices and never a whimper from you. Now it is time to rest from all of your toiling and let others carry on in your honor. I am so super honored you called me your friend. Linda Persons

'Maurine & I have been friends since we were 5 yrs old. I Just lost my oldest and dearest friend. A lot of the time we didn't speak frequently, but she was always on my mind. She was one of the sweetest people that I have ever had the pleasure to know. She was always going the extra mile for someone. She will really be missed!!!! God be with you!

Maurine was a foster Grandma in my classroom. She was loved by all children and they all flocked to her for hugs. Maurine was sweet, compassionate, loving. I had many wonderful conversations with her. She brought her family album to school to show me her family. She talked about her brothers a lot. Maurine was always willing to help and go an extra mile. I really enjoyed having her help and enthusiasm. Mauring was so talented, she could paint and do just about anything.

I always enjoyed having dinner with Maureen, Al and Ruthie. She was a wealth of knowledge like her brother Al. Rest in peace my friend. God's speed.
