Loren (Snooky) Green, age 79, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at his residence in Sheridan. Snook was born September 18, 1938, in Sheridan, to parents, Harry and K. Louise (Johnston) Green.
Snook went through schools in Sheridan, graduating from SHS in 1957. He was an excellent basketball player and went to play at Sheridan College and Chadron State, Nebraska.
Snook went to barber school in Phoenix, Arizona and was a barber at the Rex Barber Shop until 1970. Afterwards, he worked for Decker Coal for 20 years. He married L. Karen Bell on September 29, 1982 in Sheridan.
Snook liked to hunt and fish and really enjoyed the rodeos. He had many friends and was always glad to see or hear from them, up until his death. Snook was a life member of the Sheridan Elks.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Green, parents, and brothers, Dennis and Ed. Snook is survived by his son, Scott Curry; brothers, Gary and Bob; and good friend, Ella (Carroll) Krull.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in the Elks Cemetery with Pastor Phil Wold officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the Elks Lodge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Elks Building Fund or the Elks Youth Rodeo.
