Ann Jackson

Ann Jackson passed away peacefully on February 8, 2016 at Green House Living, Sheridan, WY. She was born 88 years ago to Walter Leon Flippo and Berna Dell (Akers) Flippo in Fort Worth, TX. She married her cherished husband, Virgil Ray Jackson Sr. on February 16, 1946 at the United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs, CO.
Ann and Virgil were happily married for 59 years. He preceded her in death in 2005. She was also, preceded by beloved son, Ray Jr. in 1990.
Ann was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed worshipping and singing traditional hymns. Her memberships with the United Methodist Women and Native American Committee were important to her.
Ann was secretary for Underwood School District in Underwood, Iowa and secretary for United States Air Force Command in Colorado Springs for many years.
Ann was a voracious reader. Judy Armstrong and the home delivery services at Fulmer Library, kept Ann faithfully supplied with her favorite authors. She also loved music. Her favorite listening group was "The Basics" from Trinity Lutheran Church, who perform at Green House every month. Ann enthusiastically sang with "The Sheridanaires" under the direction of Jane Perkins, her kind friend. Ann missed her singing friends when she was recently unable to continue.

She loved camping by the rivers and reading by the fires in her Colorado Rocky Mountains. She was such an adamant Bronco fan, she hung on until the morning after their Super Bowl win! She enjoyed the company of dogs and her dear "Miss Kitty."
Ann is survived by her loving children, John Jackson (Su) of Skagway, AK, and Donna McDougall (David,) of Dayton, WY; her brother, Walter Flippo (Judy) of Conroe, TX; her grandson, Woodrow McDougall of Boulder, CO; her sister in law, Mary Jackson of Brighton, CO; her dear nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Mary Sellers of Colorado Springs, CO.
Ann's family would like to sincerely thank the Green House Living staff. It was a pleasure to share Ann's unconditional way of loving, listening and laughing with all of you.
Ann's memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 11, 2016 at United Methodist Church in Sheridan. Memorials in Ann's honor may be made to: Green House Living Activities Program, 2311 Shirley Cove, Sheridan,
