Betty Lee Maxted

About:

Betty Lee Maxted 73, of Sheridan, WY passed away on February 7, 2014, at her home after a long battle with cancer.

Betty was born September 22, 1940, in Sheridan to Josephine and Lee Garrett. She married her high school sweetheart on September 26, 1959.

She worked at Kings Saddlery for 30 years, where she met her second family. She was a caretaker most of her life; caring for her brother-in-law who was paralyzed, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law. She dedicated her life to others and never expected a thing in return. She was truly an angel!

Her passions included sewing, going to the mountains, and watching Pete race stock cars and snow machines. However, her biggest passion was family.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Cory Maxted, and her husband, Pete Maxted.

Betty is survived by three daughters Bonnie Harper of Kettle Falls, WA, Dee Dee Rice of Sheridan, WY and Cindy Jensen of Neodesha, KS; brother Gary Garrett of Tucson, AZ; sister, Kathie Grider, of Billings, MT; five grandchildren Shane Rice, Tausha Harper, Nicole Cooper, Brianna Ewing and Whittney Ewing; and lastly, three great-grandchildren Paisley Rice, Tinley Cooper and Italy Pierce who were her pride and joy!

Funeral service will be 2:00pm on Thursday (Feb. 13th) from First United Methodist Church with interment in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
