Betty Pauline Olson, 92, of Sheridan, Wyoming, died Sunday, April 27, 2014 in Westview Health Care Center.
Mrs. Olson was born February 9, 1922 in Fargo, North Dakota to Victor and Margaret (Williams) Milmine. She grew up and attended grade school in the Sanders, Montana area, where the family farm and ranch is at the present day. Betty married at a young age and raised 4 children in the Hysham, Montana area.
Mrs. Olson married Harold (Spike) Olson September 5, 1967 in Sheridan, Wyoming. They lived in Forsyth, Montana for a few years and then moved to Sheridan, Wyoming. Betty was a wife, homemaker, and mother. She raised 3 more children.
The family moved to Sundance, Wyoming in 1979 and stayed there until Spike passed away in 2006. Betty then moved in with her daughter and son-in-law in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Betty was a member of Women of the Moose, Order of the Eastern Star in Sundance, Wyoming, the American Legion Auxiliary, and a Shrine Lady. She enjoyed gambling, watching rodeos, country music, gardening, cooking, and reading, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Olson was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; sisters; and her husband, Spike.
She is survived by four sons, Alex (Rick) Wetsch, (Ivy), of Dunbar, Nebraska, Ronald Wetsch, (Joy), of Drummond, Montana, Michael Olson, of Gillette, Wyoming, and Allan Olson, of Virginia; two daughters, Pauline Zastoupil, of Forsyth, Montana, and Donna Cope, (Alan), of Sheridan, Wyoming; 19 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mrs. Olson will be Friday, May 2, 2014 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, South Dakota. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
