Doris “Mickey” Leach, 89, of Sheridan, WY died Friday, April 19, 2013, in Westview Health Care Center, Sheridan.

Mickey was born April 25, 1923, in Sheridan, WY. She moved with her Mother Amy and Step father Art Brown to Hastings, NE when she was a young girl. She grew up and graduated from high school in Hastings. She attended the Nebraska College of Commerce. Mickey moved to Washington and worked there until she married Waldo “Irish” Leach on April 19, 1947 in Sheridan. She worked as a bookkeeper for Jersey Creamery, Big Horn Coal, Riley Motor and Memorial Hospital until she retired. Irish died in 2002. Mickey loved to dance and taught many people and children to dance at the Big Goose Community Hall. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and hunting for arrow heads.

Mickey was preceded in death by parents and son Gary Leach.

Mickey is survived by her son Rick and wife Ardis of Sheridan; step daughter Luann Helms of Lander, WY; step grandchildren Steven, Christy, Brian and Kathy; eight step great grandchildren and one step great great grandson.

Graveside service will be 11:00am on Tuesday (April 23rd) in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Phil Wold officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
