Earl L. Hartman

Earl L. Hartman, 87, of Sheridan, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 at Westview Health Care Center. He was born February 2, 1930 in Racine, Wisconsin to Soren and Rose (Retzlaff) Hartman.
Earl enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1951 where he served in Korea until 1953. He was honorably discharged in 1957. He married Rose Balsano on September 1, 1956 and were married for 27 years.
Earl’s enthusiasm for life was his love of work. He was an extremely talented and gifted man. He was a natural craftsman and builder. Earl loved carpentry and construction work. He also, had a passion for restoring antique automobiles. Old Cadillacs and Buicks were some of his favorites.
Earl was an extremely good, hearted man, always going out of his way to help out a friend in need. He and his friends first came to Wyoming in the 1960’s to hunt elk in Jackson Hole. In the late 1980’s, Earl moved to Sheridan to help his son, Greg with his taxidermy business.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Russel Hartman. Earl is survived by his son, Greg Hartman of Sheridan, Wyoming and daughter, Mickey Maas of Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Services for Earl will be held at Graceland Cemetery at a later date in Racine, Wisconsin where he will be laid to rest next to his parents, his brother, and his wife. Online condolences may be written at www.championfh.com Arrangements are under the direction of Champion Funeral Home
