Edwin Rae Nicholson, 91, of Sheridan, WY passed away on Wednesday November 26, 2014 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.
Edwin was born on October 20, 1923 in Roundup, MT to his parents, Norman and Mary (Pilch) Nicholson.
Edwin graduated from Roundup High School and enlisted in the Navy in 1941. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Roundup and immediately became an astute businessman. In 1951, Edwin was called back in to the Navy to teach electronics at Widbey Island, a naval base in Washington State. He returned to Roundup and owned several businesses, until 1965 at which time he moved his family to Sheridan, WY to become a partner with his brother-in-law, Jim Weber, in Valley Motor and Implement, now Valley Motor Honda. He continued working full-time for 49 years, at Valley Motor Honda, until he retired at the age of 90. Edwin met the love of his life, Rose Marie (Vedova) Nicholson in 1946, when she was a senior in high school in Roundup. They were married 2 years later and celebrated 66 years together last September. From that marriage, came three children, Sandy Collins (deceased), Diane Ballek (husband, Ken) and Don Nicholson. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Justin Ballek (wife Stacy), Tennyson Gilpatrick (husband T.Jay) and Ben Collins, and five great-grandchildren Ethan, Kiley and Abby Ballek and Paige and Reece Gilpatrick.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
