Gerald E. Marcoux, 81, of Story, Wyoming, passed away on December 20, 2016 in Sheridan, WY.

Jerry was born in Long Beach, California on March 23rd, 1935, and spent the first part of his life there, going to school at St. Matthews Elementary School, followed by St. Anthony High School. A career in the oil industry in Signal Hill then started, finishing at Davis Investment, spending almost 40 years in the industry. He married his soulmate Mary Joelle Covall on June 24, 1995 at their home in Story, Wyoming. Together, they lived in the place which he cherished and enjoyed for the rest of his life. An Army veteran during the Korean War, he continued his passion to help his communities later in life, first in Long Beach being involved with The St. Christopher’s Guild for many years at Our Lady of Refuge Church, and then continuing with the Story Lions Club in Wyoming.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Mary Joelle, and lovingly remembered by his children: Joni Marques (Dan), Tom Marcoux (Mandy), Bill Marcoux (Lorie) , and Geno Marcoux (Kelly), along with his beloved grandchildren : Tommy Marcoux (Shari), Candace Niboli (Anthony), Ryan Marques, Michael Marcoux, Cole Marcoux, Adam Marcoux, Grant Marcoux, Melia Marcoux, and Mitchell Marcoux, and great-granddaughter, Kathleen Marcoux, step-sons: Jon Gorton (Jenni) and Steve Covall (Jennifer), step-grandchildren: Hunter Gorton, Jon Gorton, Jr, Shiloh Gorton, Eric Covall, Hannah Salmi, Sean Covall, and Grace Sandy, step-great grandchildren: Aidan Connors, Cadence Enfinger, Irelynn Gorton, Mark Gorton and Atticus Gorton.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 6th, 2017 at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Long Beach, California with Father Al Scott celebrating. Reception will follow in the parish hall.

A memorial service will be held in Story, Wyoming at 11:00 am on January 13th, 2017 at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church with Father Ron Stolcis celebrating. Reception to follow at the Story Woman’s Club.
