About:
Harry W. Adsit, 88 of Big Horn, WY died Saturday, May 25, 2013, in the V.A. Medical Center, Sheridan, WY. Harry lived more the 79 years on the corner known by some Big Horn residents as “Adsit’s Corner”, the northwest corner of Big Horn.
Harry was born July 26, 1924, in Kirby, MT to Charles W. and Gustava (Carlson) Adsit.
Harry attended schools in Kirby and Big Horn and was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1944 and served in WWII. He worked on ranches around Big Horn then for Vickery Lumber Co. before working at the V.A. Medical Center for thirty plus years until he retired. Harry married Fern Nelson on July 19, 1955 and they later divorced in 1982. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the American Legion. Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing pool at the Senior Center and won a gold medal in the Senior Olympics on his 86 birthday.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Fred and Howard and two sisters Helen Collins and Dorothy Davis.
Harry is survived by his companion Fern Focht; son Charles of Big Horn; daughter Sharon Clemens(Allen) of Sheridan; granddaughters Tanya Rae Jolovich (Todd) and Misty Dae Jolovich (Matt); four great grandchildren, Tanner, Cameron, Tryce, and TeAnna; one great granddaughter; two nieces and three nephews.
Funeral service will be 2:00pm on Thursday (May 30th) from Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Miller officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
Memorials may benefit the Sheridan Senior Citizen’s Center, 211 Smith St., Sheridan.
