Jean King, 64, of Sheridan, WY died Tuesday, February 12, 2013, in her Sheridan home.

Jean was born February 25, 1948, in Houston, TX to Rodney & Jane (Weeren) Diemer.

Jean was raised in Houston and Brenham, TX and went on to the University of Wyoming where she graduated with degrees in Education and Industrial Arts (the first woman to do so) in 1970.

She met and then married William L. “Bill” King in 1971 and they made their home in Sheridan where Jean taught school, raised their two children, worked in King’s Saddlery and upon the creation of Don King’s Western Museum became the manager and curator.

Her favorite activities centered around her family, home, gardening and work.

Jean was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Anne Diemer.

Jean is survived by her husband Bill, twin sister Joan Scott (Tom), son Brian (Renee) of Laramie, WY, daughter Hanna Ehrmantraut (Troy) and three grandchildren: James King, Tristan King and Merritt Ehrmantraut.

Services were private for the family. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Memorials may benefit the Downtown Sheridan Association or to the Donor’s Choice.
