Joan Margaret Curtis, 73, of Sheridan, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. Joan was born in Austin, MN on August 14, 1942. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Norma Sattler of Austin, and infant son, Matthew.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, George; a son, Mark of Hollywood, CA; sisters Joyce of Spencer, IA and Donna (George) of Canby, MN; brothers Joel (Cynthia) of St. Paul, MN and Greg (Teressa) of Tecumsa, MN; niece, Rachel and nephews, Terry, Arron, and Andy; and a very special aunt, Jean Derr of Austin, MN.
Joan had many very special friends that helped her during her struggle as well as the wonderful and caring doctors, nurses and staff at the Welch Cancer Center and the Hospice of the Big Horns. They all went that extra mile to see that she was comfortable and well taken care of. They gave her the strength and the will to fight her cancer.
Cremation will take place and at her request private services will be held at a later date.
