John T. Kobielusz

John T. Kobielusz, 96, of Sheridan, Wyoming, died Monday, April 21, 2014 in Westview Health Care Center.
Mr. Kobielusz was born November 12, 1917 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Thomas and Mary (Jurosek) Kobielusz. He grew up and attended schools in Sheridan. He went to work for Smith-Close Implement Company in 1937 in Sheridan. John then went to work for E. Hammer Company from 1940 to 1942. Mr. Kobielusz moved to Cody and worked as a carpenter, and as an electrician. He moved back to Sheridan and worked at the Holly Sugar Factory for 6 months before moving to Tonopah, Nevada where he worked at the Air Force Base. John then moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho where he worked as a carpenter.
Mr. Kobielusz moved back to Sheridan where he bought a ranch on Dutch Creek which he worked for one year before moving to Hiawatha, Utah where he worked in an underground coal mine. While there, John went to electrical college in Price, Utah. He returned to Sheridan and went to work for Valley Motors. John then went to work for the Sheridan, Wyoming Coal Company until 1950. During this time, John also worked for Husman Brothers Construction into the 1960's. He then went to work at the Wyoming Sawmills as an electrician. Mr. Kobielusz moved to Colstrip, Montana where he worked in the mine for 2 years. John then went to work for Ash Creek Coal Mine as an electrician until 1984 when he returned to the ranch near Wyarno which he ran until retiring in 2005.
Mr. Kobielusz was a lifetime member of Sheridan Elk's Lodge #520 and Sheridan Eagle's Lodge #186. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
John was preceded in death by his parents; 2 wives; 3 brothers; 5 sisters; 1 son; and 2 grandchildren.
He is survived by three sons, Theodore Kobielusz (Connie), of Los Angeles, California, Larry Kobielusz (Daley), and Robert Kobielusz (Sherry), of Sheridan, Wyoming; step-children, Gary Carson, Bill Carson, and Diann Peters;1 sister, Rosie Belus, of Sheridan, Wyoming; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mr. Kobielusz will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Goodwin officiating. Interment will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
