Joyce M. Tippie
About:
Joyce Marilyn Tippie passed away peacefully at home in Sheridan, Wyo., on July 19, 2015, after
a three year battle with cancer. Joyce was born in Tacoma, Wash., on May 11, 1934. She was the daughter of Otis and Lelah Ostlund and was the sister to her younger brother Gary.
Joyce graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma where she met Lenar 'Tip,' her husband of 63 years. Joyce loved to travel and with gentle persuasion convinced Tip
to travel almost every road in the United States.
Joyce was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She was a great cook and there was always a fresh homemade dessert
at dinner time. Joyce loved
to knit and enjoyed making sweaters for newborn babies.
Joyce did volunteer work throughout her life. She spent many hours volunteering at what was then called the Yellowstone Boys Ranch, Billings, in the early 1970's. In recent years she and Tip volunteered at a food bank in Mesa, Ariz., where they wintered.
Joyce's greatest joy was her family and friends: husband, Tip; brother Gary (Justine) Ostlund, Pinehurst, N.C.; children Robert (Denys) Tippie, Sheridan, Wyo.; Richard Lee Tippie, Kent, Wash.; grandchildren, Erik (Leah) Nordenstam; Britt (Robert) Rohde; Leif (Sinta) Nordenstam; and great-grandchildren, Bradin Rohde, Ethan Rohde, Zachery Rohde, Marin Nordenstam, Logan Nordenstam and Beila Nordenstam. Joyce was preceded
in death by her parents.
At her request, no services will be held. Memorials may be made to: Yellowstone Boys & Girls Ranch, 1732 S. 72nd St. West, Billings, MT 59106. Online condolences may be written at www.championfh.com.
