Larry A. Andre, 75, of Sheridan, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2014 at his home of cancer surrounded by his family.
Mr. Andre was born July 20, 1938 in Omaha, Nebraska to Arthur H. and Luree I. (Gaster) Andre. Larry grew up and attended school in Omaha and graduated from Tech High in Omaha.
Larry married Connie J. Wittages in Omaha. After Connie's death, Larry married Cindi Cossey in Sheridan, Wyoming.
When Larry was younger, he played in a rock-and-roll band by the name of "The Playboys". One of their highest accomplishments was opening for the Rolling Stones. In 1967 he moved his family to Sheridan, Wyoming because he fell in love with the beauty of Wyoming. He played at the American Legion where he joined the 7th Calvary Drum and Bugle Corps, and enjoyed 49 years playing with them. He made a lot of friends in the Drum and Bugle Corps and was very passionate about his roll with them and entertaining.
Larry lived life to the fullest with a smile always on his face. He had many friends and people loved being around him. He was a very successful salesman for Kent/Crest Industries and after retiring he spent many afternoons fishing, hunting, working in the garden, and riding his Harley. He attended numerous bike rallies and traveled many beautiful highways. Larry could bring laughter and smiles to anyone around him whether he knew them or not. He always had a joke to tell and a warm hug to share. He will be incredibly missed by everyone that knew him, especially his best buddies Jeff, Joe, and Bill.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Connie, and daughter, Laura A. Andre.
Larry is survived by one son, Tim S. Andre, of Aurora, Colorado; one daughter, Lisa R. Songer, of Sheridan, Wyoming; one sister, Sara Y. Lorentzen, and her husband, Thomas D. Lorentzen, of Omaha, Nebraska; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and many friends.
A Celebration of Life for Larry will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the American Legion Post #7, 137 N. Brooks St., Sheridan, Wyoming. Dan Burgess and Beth Shelton will be speaking. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
Memorials in memory of Mr. Andre may be made to the 7th Cavalry Drum and Bugle Corps, 137 N. Brooks St., Sheridan, Wyoming 82801.
