Mable Inez Bigelow
About:
Mable Inez Bigelow (Granat), 86, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2018 in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Mable was born to Clyde and Esther Granat in Grand Junction Colorado, the oldest of three girls. She graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1949. Mable was introduced by her father to Guy Bigelow while he was working at the Rio Grande Railroad in Grand Junction. They were married on Aug. 3, 1952. With work-related moves to Arizona, California, Massachusetts, and Colorado and the children growing up, Mable became a bookkeeper for several companies.
Guy and Mable retired early and moved to Green Valley, Arizona in 1986. They were active in the original Canoa Ridge Homeowners. Mable was a charter member of Chapter DI, P.E.O. International. They became members of the Evangelical Free Church of Green Valley. In 2003 Mable and Guy moved to La Posada, where again they became active in several community groups. Guy passed away in 2008. Mable continued her involvement with the E-Free church and worked in their sound booth for many years.
Mable moved to Sheridan, Wyoming in March 2018 to be close to family. Though her time was short in Wyoming, she was "Blooming Where She Was Planted." Mable will be remembered by all who came to know her for her ready smile, upbeat attitude and her HUGS.
Mable is survived by her daughter Carol (Jim) Smith of Sheridan, Wyoming, her son Roger (Susan) Bigelow of Harvard, Massachusetts, three grandchildren Sarah Smith, Kayti Bigelow and Thomas Bigelow, her sister Mary Lou Welch of Grand Junction, Colorado and several nieces and nephews.
