Norma Faye DeLapp, 81, of Kaycee, WY died Thursday, November 24, 2011, at home.

Norma was born July 7, 1930, in Opportunity, WA to Jack & Genevieve (Applegren) Reavis.

When Norma was two years old, the family moved to Dayton, WY where she attended elementary school and then graduated from high school in Sheridan, WY in 1948. She attended Carroll College and graduated from Sisters of Charity School of Nursing, Billings, MT. She worked at the old Sheridan Hospital, Eventide, VA Medical Center and for Dr. Booth. Norma married Neil DeLapp on September 19, 1953, in Sheridan. They lived in the Banner area. In 1959, they bought a ranch on Lower Tongue River. On Thanksgiving Day in 1979, she moved into the house on the ranch west of Kaycee and lived there 32 years until she died on Thanksgiving Day, 2011, in that same house.

Norma was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed shopping, hunting elk antlers and arrowheads on the ranch and loved her dog and cats. She also loved bossing Neil around.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Kali Jo Ankney.

Norma is survived by her husband Neil of Kaycee; son Brett DeLapp & wife Darcy of Decker, MT; daughters Tana Ankney and Jill DeLapp of Sheridan; brother Dean Reavis of Cody, WY; four grandchildren Nevada DeLapp, Fawnie Erickson, Shawn and Troy Ankney; and five great grandchildren Wyatt, Brayton, Josie, Moray and Loral.

Funeral service will be 1:00pm on Friday (Dec. 2nd) from Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Elks Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Memorials may benefit the First Presbyterian Church, Elks Lodge #520 “Cemetery Fund” or the Susan B. Lawrence Hospice, 497 W. Lott, Buffalo, WY 82834.
