Robert F. Sunday, age 71 of Sheridan, Wyoming, formerly of Cold Spring, NY, died on, June 12, 2014 after a long illness. Born in Cold Springs, NY, on July 4, 1942 he was the son of the late Samuel J. and Mary (Lemon) Sunday, Sr.
Bobby as he was known to family and friends was a graduate of Haldane High School and was an active member of the Cold Spring Fire Company #1. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era from 1964 – 1966 being stationed in Germany. After his discharge he became a member of Teamsters Local #445, before moving to Wyoming where he became a member of the Western Teamsters Conference. As a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters for 40 years, he spent 15 years as a fuel truck and lowboy truck driver for Murphy Brothers stationed out of East Moline, Il. Bobby was a key member in the construction of pipelines hauling heavy equipment throughout the United States and Canada. He also worked for many contactors over the years too numerous to mention.
Bobby spent 30 wonderful years residing in Sheridan, Wyoming, skiing at all the Rocky Mountain Resorts when he was not working. His caring, easygoing manner and wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Bobby rode hard and lived free.
He is survived by his sister in law Fern L. Sunday of Fishkill, NY; a nephew Brian S. Sunday of Mechanicsburg, PA; two grand nieces Susan J. Sunday of New York, NY and Lauren S. Sunday of CA and many good friends.
His brother Samuel J. Sunday, Jr. pre-deceased him on November 26, 2012.
A private cremation has taken place in Wyoming. Graveside services will take place at 12 Noon, July 26, 2014 at the Cold Spring Cemetery, Cold Spring, NY.
