Ruth E. Morris of Sheridan, Wyoming passed away at Sheridan Manor on September 10, 2015.
She was born in Buffalo, Wyoming to Clarence M. Shaffer and Nellie (Bennick) Shaffer on April
11, 1928.
Ruth married Eldon Green, Sr., August 4, 1946; they had three children, Jaci, Ray and Rick; and
later divorced. On November 25, 1965 Ruth was married to Willis W. Morris; they spent 49
years together living an active and loving life style. Ruth and Willy enjoyed golfing, traveling and
especially their mountain retreat at Elk View in the Big Horn Mountains. Ruth and Willy together
raised Ruth's 3 children along with Willy's 3 children, Marcia, Scott and Sherrie; their first goal
was to provide all of the children with a safe and loving home.
Ruth worked in various office jobs over the years and finished her career working side by side
with Willy at NAPA Auto Parts. Upon retirement they searched for a community to escape the
Wyoming winters and spent a number of years between Sheridan and Mesa, AZ. While in Mesa,
Ruth enjoyed spending time at under privileged schools helping the children with reading.
Ruth is survived by her brother, Frank Shaffer-Sheridan, WY; her children, Jaci Hicks, Sun
Lakes, AZ, Ray (Laurie) Green-Sheridan, Rick Green-San Tan Valley, AZ, Marcia (Dallas)
Mitchell-Sheridan, Scot Morris-Sheridan, and Sherrie (Jim) Harries; 10 grandchildren, 14 great
grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willy
Morris; her parents; 1 brother and 2 sisters.
