Dennis M. Sisson

About:

Dennis was born February 2, 1952 in Spearfish, South Dakota to Merle and Evelyn Sisson, the second of their three children. He grew up in Sundance and graduated from Sundance High School in 1971. He worked several years for the local grocery store there. Dennis enlisted in the US Army and had assignments in Kentucky, Korea, Colorado Springs, and Denver. He moved to Sheridan in 1979, working for Buttrey Osco. Dennis married his wife Janice, December 1, 1979. Then he was a cook at Westview Health Care Center until retirement.
His hobbies included, wood working, copy artistry, and power-walking. Dennis enjoyed participating in local events including Big Horn Wild Scenic Trail Run. He volunteered in various VA activities for many years.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Janice; sister, Helen (Dick) Engelhaupt and their families in Sundance; and brother, Harry (Kay) Sisson in Sheridan; nephews, Steve, Mike, and Jon and their families.
After an extended illness, he passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the VA Mountain View Living Center in Sheridan. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Special Olympics or the First United Methodist Church, 215 W. Works St., Sheridan, WY 82801.
Burial service will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 1:30 PM. Arrangements are entrusted with Champion Funeral Home, 244 S. Brooks St., Sheridan, WY 82801.
