Donald "Wolf" Lloyd Emminger, Jr.

About:

Donald “Wolf” Emminger, Jr., 77, of Sheridan and Parkman, WY passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Sheridan VA Medical Center. He was born on November 07, 1946 to Donald Lloyd Emminger, Sr. and Vivian Fay Emminger (Marshall) in Shadyside, PA.

Wolf proudly enlisted in the Army in 1964 and served our country for almost 4 years during the Vietnam War. While he was fighting for all of our freedom, he also received his diploma, completed multiple courses of training and was awarded with many medals of honor; National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Combat Medal.

For those of you that knew Wolf, you know he was a very discreet person that didn’t share a lot about his past except little bits here and there which kept you trying to piece his life together. However, you don’t need to know his past to tell you what kind of person he was, which was the most kind hearted, giving man that has seen the darkest side of humanity that his friends have ever met. This man was truly one of a kind. If the world had 1% of the population with his giving nature, the world would be a much better place.

Wolf never went anywhere without at least 4 knives; he was a knife fanatic. He always wore his black cowboy boots and his black leather Vietnam Vet Vest and always had a sweet tea or coca cola in his hand. On top of that he always had a “gift” every time he saw someone he loved.

He was a born again Christian and loved God with everything he had. Wolf loved many things such as; off roading, camping, taking his FJ up on the mountains, shooting and building his firearms, western movies, his gold and silver that he was a big collector of, he loved listening to Coast to Coast every night and then tell those stories he heard to his close friends, any type of baby animal tugged at his heart, especially his lamb, Steve and he loved wolves. He always considered himself a “lone wolf.”

Wolf was very active with helping veterans in need, along with being very supportive of the Veterans Village which is a local nonprofit who are working to build tiny homes for at-risk veterans. Wolf believed in his ministry and how he served God was to hand out bibles to anyone that he came across that was in need. He worked very hard to build Christian Faith Based Resources that he provided for the Sheridan VA Chapel. He would help anyone and everyone, even total strangers. He is going to be deeply missed by everyone that had the luxury of knowing him.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father. Wolf is survived by many friends that he loved wholeheartedly and considered family.
