Harry Roe Fort, was born October 12, 1952 in Spearfish South Dakota to Bonnie Bartlett and Harry William Fort. He passed away at his home on December 19, 2019. Harry lived around Hulett, WY as a child and he moved to Illinois with his mom where he lived until he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1969. Harry met Cathie J. Crites in 1971 while stationed in Fort Riley, Kansas. They were married on September 13, 1971 and moved to Illinois. They lived there until 1980, and then moved to Sheridan, WY where they raised their family. Harry is survived by: Wife Cathie Fort of 48 years; Three daughters: Melody (Bryan) Barkley of Casper, WY, Michelle (Jerry) Greer of Rawlins, WY, Marsha Fort and Ed Swearingim of Sheridan, WY, and son Harry E. (Katie) Fort of Clearmont, WY; Brother Paddy Fort of Sheridan, WY; 8 grandchildren: Kevin Fort, Brandon Fort, Dustin Fort, James Fort, Austin Fort, Mersade Greer, Harry M. Fort, and Eric Fort; and many nieces and nephews. Harry is preceded in death by his Mother Bonnie, Father Harry W., Sisters, Deeda Long and Willinor (Willie) Newbrough.
Harry loved working with his hands and was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, ranching and spending time with his family. Harry loved the Big Horn Mountains and his favorite spot was Sunlight Mesa. Harry was a friend to many, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He loved his family, and he will be missed by everyone who was blessed to know him. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
