James B. Westwang, Jr.

James B. Westwang, Jr., 59, of Sheridan, WY, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at his residence.

Jim was born June 17, 1951 in Kalispell, Montana to James B. and A. Belle (Peterman) Westwang. He grew up in Kalispell where he attended Flathead County Schools, and later attended Sheridan College.

Jim was in the U. S. Army from June of 1968 through August of 1972 in the 129th AHC Assault Helicopter Company serving in Viet Nam where his call sign was “Smitty”.

He married Linda M. Hoff November 6, 1981 in the United Methodist Church in Sheridan.

Jim worked for Roto Rooter for a time, and was a Registered Nurse at the V. A. Hospital in Sheridan, retiring in 2003.

Jim was a member of the V. F. W. Post 2252 in Kalispell and enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, pheasant hunting, and working with wood.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim is survived by his wife, Linda, of Sheridan, WY; one son, Eric Westwang, of Rapid City, South Dakota; one daughter, Ashley Westwang, of Laramie, Wyoming; two brothers, John Westwang, of Oregon, and Marc Westwang, of Columbia Falls, Montana; and one sister, Margo Westwang, of Columbia Falls, Montana.

Memorial service for Jim will be 10:00 A. M. Monday, October 25, 2010 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with Pastor Don Derryberry officiating. Inurnment will be in Flathead County, Montana.

Memorials in memory of Mr. Westwang may be made to the Veteran’s Benefit Association, in care of the Sheridan V. A. Medical Center, 1998 Fort Road, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801
