He was predeceased by : his brother James H. Ferries; and his son Gregory John Ferries. He is survived by : his children, Susan E. Berberick, David J. Ferries (Beth) and James S. Ferries (Laura); his grandchildren, Jennifer Ferries, William Ferris (Courtney), Andrew Ferris (Alicia), Margaret Ferries and Evelyn Ferries; and his siblings, Jay Ferries (Sheridan), Jeremy Ferries (Oregon) and Margaret Meacham (Wisconsin). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

For the past several years, John had Alzheimer's and was cared for by his loving wife.
