Brought into this world by Dr. Taggart, an old country Dr. from Parkman, WY. There she was raised by her parents, Edwin F. Barker and Matilda(Klinkosh) Barker. Growing up was at times a challenge for Louise as her only companions were her two brothers, John and Ed Barker, and 6 boy cousins Robert,Gabriel, Phillip, Eugene, Joseph, and George Barker. They were always teasing and pulling pranks on her. All attended the Little Blue School.

As a young woman, she ventured to Oregon, spending time with one of her friend’s until she returned home in themid-1940s. Louise was very proud of her career working for the CB&Q Railroad as a telegrapher and depot agent. They both loved horses and always had at least 2 around the place. Louise was an avid animal lover.

Louise enjoyed baking and cooking. She was famous for her homemade chili and prune doughnuts. She also loved collecting antique dishes. For many years she spoke to her mother in German. It was entertaining for her to talk to us in German, even though we had no idea what she was saying. Family time meant more to her than anything. She loved spending time with all her children and grandchildren. Two of her grandchildren, Louisa and Dardan for the most part were raised by Louise.
