Myrtle Grace Garrett Cullison, 90, of Sheridan, WY died Sunday, January 27, 2013, in Sheridan Manor.
Myrtle was born July 17, 1922, in Gillette, WY to Albert & Mary (Engleking) Schoenfeld.
She grew up and attended school in Gillette. Myrtle cooked on ranches until she married Laurel “Pete” Garrett in 1940. They ranched near Gillette until they moved to the Sheridan area and ranched near Big Horn. They moved into Sheridan in 1947. Myrtle worked at the Cloverleaf Bakery, ran the concession stand in Kendrick Park and at the old bowling alley. She also cooked at the Linden School. Pete died in 1974. Myrtle retired and then married James Cullison in 1979. The later divorced. Myrtle attended Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing, sewing and cooking.
Myrtle was also preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, five sister and grandson Jack.
Myrtle is survived by her son Ron Garrett & wife Linda of Brighton, CO; daughter Maxine Helling of Sheridan; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:00am on Thursday (Jan. 31st) from Champion Ferries Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Goodwin officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
