Olga Helen Browne, 93, of Sheridan, WY died Friday, December 24, 2010, in Sheridan Manor.
Olga Helen Schwarzenbach was born in Samara, Russia, January 24, 1917, the first born child of Arthur Schwarzenbach and Alexandra Markova Schwarzenbach.
The family escaped Russia during the Bolshevik Revolution. They arrived in the USA in 1920 and made their home in St. Cloud, MN. After High School Graduation, Olga worked for JC Penney Co. in St. Cloud. On June 15, 1941, Olga married Edward W. Browne in St. Cloud. They immediately moved to Sheridan, WY which, after a short move to Tacoma, Washington, became their permanent home. Three children were born to this union, Sandra, David and Dudley.
Ed and Olga enjoyed collecting antiques, their home, Wyoming with its wonderful beauty and the Big Horn Mountains. Olga’s special interests were her home, her children and her friends. She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church where she was active in St. Margaret’s Guild, the Craft Group, the Church Bazaar, and the Bookshelf. In the Community, she belonged to Homemakers, Newcomers Club, served as a den mother for the Cub Scouts, loved the neighborhood coffee Klatch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son David, sister Tamara Martin, brother Victor Schwarzenbach, grandson Lance Tharaldson.
Besides her many friends, she is survived by her daughter Sandy (Harbee) Tharaldson of Sheridan; son Dudley (Martha) Taylor-Browne, Waterville, Maine; sister Nina Schwarzenbach of St. Cloud, MN; grandchildren Kyle (Jennefer) Lear-Tharaldson, Farmington, MN, Kara Tharaldson (fiancée Hal Schuler) of Minneapolis, MN, Kristian Tharaldson (fiancée Angella Hegdahl) of Duluth, MN; great-grandchildren Zoe, Mya and Tea Lear-Tharaldson; sister-in-law Rill (John) Cessnun of Hot Springs, AR; brother-in-law Dudley (Phyllis) Browne of Austin, TX; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10:00am Thursday (Dec. 30th) from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
