Urbin Lee Donnafield, one of the last members of the greatest generation, an authentic cowboy, a poet, part gypsy, and blessed with the gift of gab.  He was a woodworker, leatherworker, and builder of wagons, one of which was built for and appeared in the movie Dances with Wolves. His love for and knowledge of horses was well known and many sought him out for it. He was a fine teamster and enjoyed his favorite Fjords, Ben and Sandar, until his last day. Urbin was a wonderful teacher and friend. People from all around tended to flock to his warmth. You could find him at his favorite watering hole, the Parkman Bar,accurately reading palms with a grin. He made you feel important, good about yourself;his personality was infectious. Born in the great depression, he was the eighth of ten siblings. He overcame a great deal of hardship his whole life and eventually would find help from his loving wife Frances Donnafield, to whom he was married for 58 years. He retired from Decker Coal Mine and the railroad.Urbin was an excellent grandfather and mentor. Never one to remain idle, he was the industrious and clever earner. His warmth and hospitality will forever be missed, and his presence will be thought of often. His longevity was reminiscent of his perseverance. At 90 years of age, he had a good, long run,and left an indelible impression that will be cheerfully reminisced.

Though a poet at heart, he was tougher than a coffin nail,

he had to be from where he came.

His wits about him, he had without fail,

And by the years he made a name.

Urbin Lee Donnafield:

Husband, father, grandfather, veteran,scrapper, horseman/teamster, mentor, and best friend. He was well loved.
